Our Warmest Congratulations to Our New Partners – Katie Cornetto and Brandon McPherson

In February 2020, Katie Cornetto and Brandon McPherson became partners with Schwartz & Shaw.  We could not be more proud of them and the outstanding work they do for our clients.


Brandon received his B.A. in Political Science, with honors, and a minor in Philosophy from North Carolina State University in 2007 and his Juris Doctor from the Norman Adrian Wiggins School of Law at Campbell University in 2011.  He joined the firm in 2012.


Katie graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a Bachelors of Arts in Political Science and Public Policy in 1994.  In 1995, she began working for the Close-Up Foundation where she taught civics to high school students in Washington, DC and Honolulu, Hawaii.  Katie graduated from North Carolina Central University School of Law in 2001.  She joined the firm in 2017 after having served as legal counsel for the North Carolina State Board of Education and Department of Public Instruction for ten years.
